FotoRoman 6.1 Istanbul 5 Days 2005, 2-6 November 2005
Day 2: 3rd November 2005, ALEV School - OMERLI Forest
ALEV schools provided logistics and orienteering maps during Istanbul 5 Days competition. ALEV schools is the only school in Turkey which owns its private orienteering maps. Forest in where the competition was held was made of oak trees. It was very colorful and offered many different challenging surfaces. ->>
<<- Three students and one teacher from ALEV Schools participated the whole event. We congratulate these kids families for their support. Berk and Zeynep were caught by camera while walking to START area.

<<- There are always one or two unforgettable faces at every event. Aykun from Istanbul OG got attention with his sympathetic behaviours during competition especially, on 3rd & 5th days.
<<- - ->> Youngest made the most furies starts.
<<- Fallen leaves made keeping the map contact extremely difficult, especialy if you navigated with footpaths. Dejan from Serbia and Montengro is running into a control.
Due to coincidence with Ramazan Festival, attendance from Turkey was very low and limited. Mehmet Ali from IOG could attend only Day 2 of the Istanbul 5 days.->>

<<- ->> Runners who arrived to finish were awarded with bananas today. Some who stayed longer than expected in the forest, enjoyed banana as a main dish. Thanks to DOLE...

<<- Weather was sunny and warm. All wet suits and shoes have dried nicely. This was good news for the hotel personel !!
Istanbul 5 is not only about running with a map, it's something social, just like Checkers ->>
<<- Shopping minibus parked in ALEV schools and running tights and tops were on sale. Export quality, Turkish price..!
